An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is a recording of the electrical activity of your pet’s heart. The ECG is used to evaluate the rhythm of the heart and identify abnormalities in the heartbeat.

The echocardiogram allows us to visualize the individual valves, chambers and walls of the heart. With ultrasound, we can watch blood move through the heart and determine abnormalities.

Both these procedures help us to identify heart problems common with many heart diseases.
